Bangalore Palace
Vasanth Nagar, Palace Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka
About this place
Built between 1862 and 1878 in a Tudor-revival style inspired by Windsor Castle, the Bangalore Palace was the residence of the Wadiyar Maharajas of Mysore. Fortified turrets, battlements and elaborate wood interiors give it the feel of a European castle transplanted to South India. Today parts of the palace and its grounds are open to the public; the larger grounds host major concerts.
